From the Rowayton Gardeners
Tips for Summer Gardening from Sally Tepas (Horticulture Chair): Stop pinching Chrysanthemums by mid July. Do not prune Azaleas and Rhododendrons after the second week of July for they will soon begin setting their buds for next year's blooms. Daffodils and tulips should be fertilized in early to mid-August. Also, various pest problems can occur now. P.S. The Master Gardeners at the Bartlett Arboretum offer a free plant clinic all summer. They will answer all plant questions. This is a great resource; the phone number is 203-322-6971 ext. 24.
